Job Description

Marketing at Refinery29 is the strategic interplay of data, analysis, and content distribution across channels, that is defining the future of media. It’s a collaborative process between editorial and marketing with the shared goal of distributing content that is resonating with our readers through the right channel and at the right time.  

Refinery29 is looking for an analytics coordinator who is obsessed with data and style. This role will be pivotal in developing the social channels we use to distribute the content we produce and surfacing them to our millions of smart, stylish, creative readers each month in the way they want to consume our content.

So who’s a good fit? Someone who is eager, ambitious, curious, data-driven, creative, Internet-savvy, and fun! Someone who likes to own projects, run experiments, and use data to draw conclusions. Someone who lives in pivot tables and is an active content consumer. This role is for someone who likes to be challenged.

Responsibilities include:

  • Offer insights: Analyze our channel performance (e.g. email, Facebook) and partner with our social team to help grow reader engagement
  • Report what matters: Monitor channel performance daily to make sure we are successful
  • Test everything: Design and run experiments to help optimize channel performance
  • Inform strategy: Help craft our strategy to grow across new and emerging channel.

Qualifications

  • Have 1-3 years of relevant work experience in a fast-paced, growing digital company.
  • Extremely analytical 
  • Expertise using Google Analytics and similar web reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of Excel modeling plus fluency in Microsoft Word and Powerpoint.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Goal-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Ability to handle pressure and work to deadlines.
  • Organized and able to multitask efficiently.
  • Interested in marketing and fashion, love the thrill of working at a start-up, and be clued in to new developments on the Internet.
