Job Description

Refinery29 is looking for a talented entry-level editorial assistant to aid in content creation and production for our fashion department. The ideal candidate is not only obsessed with all things fashion and style, from industry news and products launches to styling tips and left-of-center trends, but also the deep relationships that clothing has with society. You should love fashion in all its forms, but above that, you should be able to speak to why it's important and what makes it meaningful.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in researching and producing fashion features content 
  • Manage the summer fashion intern program
  • Facilitate Fashion Week schedules (including International fashion weeks)
  • Conduct interviews for stories, attend events, and represent Refinery29 in various industry functions
  • Support the Fashion department with a variety of administrative duties

Qualifications

  • Must be an excellent writer, with a strong voice, point of view, and ability to connect fashion with a variety of other topics (beauty, women's issues, literature, politics, etc.)
  • Have a comprehensive knowledge of the fashion industry, including trends, players, news, history, and pop culture
  • Have a strong knowledge and passion for Refinery29's voice and mission
  • Have a working knowledge of media tools, including social media, SEO, and basic CMS
  • At least 1-2 years of publishing experience, may include internships, freelance, and personal sites
  • Must have a robust social media presence, including Instagram and Twitter
