• Implement backup/restore policies for databases.
• Evaluate and execute non-application initiated queries.
• Investigate and resolve all database crashes, failures, and unexpected behavior.
• Installation and support of DB software and patches.
• Troubleshooting performance issues, design and implementation of solutions.
• Work with Engineering to develop solutions to performance and availability problems.
• Helps identify underlying trends and production problems.
• Execution of database maintenance, including Reorgs, Deletes.
• Provide data migration support.
• Perform database capacity planning and trend analysis.
• Monitor capacities and utilization of database systems.
• Plan, coordinate and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure.
• Approve, schedule, plan, and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems, such as the installation of new databases.
• Establish and calculate optimum values for database parameters, using manuals and calculator.
• Specify users and user access levels for each segment of database.
• Analyze Key Performance Metrics and make recommendations for improvements.
• Review procedures in database management system manuals for making changes to database.
• Identify and evaluate industry trends in database systems to serve as a source of information and advice for upper management.

• 5 or more years of DBA experience.
• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or similar.
• Experience supporting multiple medium databases.
• Experience in supporting critical production infrastructure.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Possess a positive outlook, results orientation, and problem solving ability.
• Ability to work well in a team based environment.
