A successful and innovative global start-up, backed by Accel Partners and Index Ventures, in a rapid international growth phase, our HQ are based in Paris and we have international teams in Madrid, Milan, Warsaw, Hamburg, Moscow, Istanbul and London. We are creating an entirely new, people powered, transport network. With dedicated customer service, state of the art mobile applications, and a highly engaged community of users, BlaBlaCar is making road travel fun, money-saving and more efficient. You will join our fine crew of web developers and become a part of BlaBlaCar’s Tech team. We are organised in several small and efficient scrum teams, improving our platform in many iterations. “Done is better than perfect” is one of our slogans, having understood this and being capable of integrating yourself in a demanding environment of equally skilled developers will be key for your success within the team.

You feel at home in the world of PHP5.4+ and are at ease with Symfony2, a experience with our framework of choice is of big help. You have worked with at least two other major technologies that are part of BlaBlaCar’s technology stack; such as Java, RabbitMQ, ElasticSearch, MySQL, memcached or Redis. You know how to build and deploy an application that runs reliably even under heavy load, you understand the responsibility of working on such projects and they give you a great sense of pride.

You are eager to learn new things and to share your skills with the other team members. You are a team player and know how to embrace the power that scrum assigns to developers, dealing with non-technical people. 

Always the big picture in mind you are able to help shifting our technical choices in the right direction and to offer new solutions if required.

Last but not least you should have a favourite beer, a solid choice that you can explain and defend equally good in English or French, even after several of them ;)

• Contract: 6 month internship (possibility of a long-term contract (CDI) after the internship)
