Company Description

We are the Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority. Our mission is to conserve the natural environment, support agriculture and connect people to nature by protecting open spaces, natural areas, and working farms and ranches for future generations.

We have protected over 16,000 acres of natural and agricultural lands in Santa Clara County. Our agency manages a system of open space preserves that are open to the public for hiking, bicycling and equestrian uses. With new funding, we are expanding our operations from top to bottom.

Job Description

We need your administrative, office management and human resources expertise to build our rock-star team, improve our foundational HR and business systems and to contribute to the development and implementation of our workforce training program.

The Ideal Candidate
You are a detail oriented and organized office administrator and human resources professional with 3+ years of professional experience preferably in a public or government agency. You thrive on big assignments that have big impacts. You enjoy using technology to streamline processes and improve foundational systems. You are excited about an opportunity to operate as the Office & Human Resources Administrator in a mission driven organization.

You possess a strong knowledge of human resource principles and regulations, are driven and have the ability to adjust to shifting priorities and take on new tasks to support the success of the agency.

Your strong communication skills and commitment to customer service enable you to effectively interact with all levels of personnel with ease. You enjoy the high level of responsibility and the challenge of administering a human resources program and being an integral part of a dynamic organization. You are a highly competent, detail oriented and organized office administrator with 3+ years in complex office administration preferably in a public or government agency.  You have the flexibility to manage the following functions: human resources (35%), office administration (25%), special projects (40%).

Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of professional experience in human resources administration and office management.
  • Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in human resources management, business or public administration, or a related field.
  • Excellent grammar, writing and proofreading with attention to detail and accuracy.
