Job Description

The Manager of our Engineering Electrical and Electronic Center of Excellence (CoE) will lead and manage this engineering technology resource. This includes management responsibilities of the group, including staffing, mentoring, technical leadership, resource allocation, and engineering/new product development and execution (design, engineering, analysis, release, production, etc.). 


This is an excellent opportunity to lead, develop, and manage the electrical/electronic engineering capability of the engineering team, and have a significant impact on the electrical/electronic growth and forward strategy for the company. 

• Responsible and accountable for the performance of the technical group
• Manage, mentor, evaluate and grow capabilities of team members
• Maintain a top level of technical expertise to support engineering department’s growth and innovation plans/efforts
• Provide strategic input for the future of electrical and/or electronic systems
• Develop and execute plans/budgets in order to achieve goals for the group
• Provide electrical and/or electronic expertise and solutions as assigned
• Provide project management support in a matrixed engineering department architecture in order to support product development (i.e.: innovations, research and development, new products, re-freshenings, etc.)
• Be a hands-on engineer/leader
• Be responsible for all managerial tasks including coaching, mentoring, hiring, and performance and development

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 


• A BS in electrical and/or electronics engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience 
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience in a hands-on electrical and/or electronic engineering capacity, and a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or management equivalent
• Possess a thorough understanding of electrical engineering and have demonstrated experience in design to production electrical engineering involvement
• Experienced in team/resource management
• Ability to work in and lead a cross functional team
• Demonstrated accountability, responsibility and success in managing a program or project


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Thorough and complete understanding of primary vehicle electrical requirements, solutions, performance, VA/VE, and production
• Skilled/Experience in microprocessor programming, motor controls, and electro hydraulic circuits
• Understanding of manufacturing and/or lean processes is desired
