Job Description

El Rey Network seeks a Manager of Public Relations who can execute the Public Relations and Communications strategies for the network. Candidates must be strong writers and well-connected communicators who understand how to engage with the wide variety of audiences we serve – consumer, trade, and corporate.  Working closely with the Vice President of Public Relations, he/she will be responsible for talent relations, managing media inquiries, writing and editing materials, and planning and executing media events, among other responsibilities.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Executing strategic communications plans
  • Talent relations
  • Planning and managing events
  • Managing media inquiries and proactive placement of stories
  • Event and interview coverage
  • Preparing awards strategies and entries

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in public relations; media industry background preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications or similar field
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Well-versed in media, pop culture and entertainment industry trends
  • Strong organizational skills managing priorities and workflows
  • Ability to adapt to changing deadlines and schedules
  • Spanish proficiency; bi-lingual (required)
  • Willingness to work long hours and on weekends
  • Travel up to 20%
