Job Description

Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a hardworking and detail oriented Help Desk Administrator. This person will ensure customer satisfaction by providing help desk support for hardware, software, connectivity and other equipment related issues.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as liaison between end-users and technical staff to communicate issues, problems and questions.
  • Responsible for the daily administration of Mac OS/Linux environment, related servers, phone system, virus scanning, security and network devices.
  • Troubleshoots network performance issues and creates and maintains a disaster recovery plan.
  • Perform hands-on fixes including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, including checking and cleaning of servers, end user devices and other IT equipment.
  • Act as an escalation point for advanced or difficult help requests.
  • Test fixes to ensure problem has been adequately solved.
  • Perform post-resolution follow ups with end user and team members as required.
  • Evaluate documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent future problems.
  • Alert Management to emerging trends in incidents. 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Science, preferred.
  • Prior experience in a help desk role, preferred.
  • Experience in a Mac OS/Linux environment, preferred.
  • Knowledge of installations, upgrades and troubleshooting of Mac OS environment and desktop support.
  • Knowledge of Network Administration (switches, routers, firewalls, desktops, laptops).
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to solve complex issues.
  • Ability to effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization.
