Job Description

SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Senior Business Designer to join IDEO.org’s Reproductive Health team in San Francisco. Our ideal candidate has a unique blend of real-world business experience and theory, someone who likes to blur the lines between strategy and creativity, and who has a passion for bringing market-leading offerings and new ventures to market. 

You will work as a core member of IDEO.org’s interdisciplinary team—meaning you will be responsible for orchestrating and delivering across many areas of a design challenge. In this position, you will be an integral member of IDEO.org’s Teen Reproductive Health program, working to design solutions for improved access to sexual and reproductive health care for youth across the globe.


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Uncover, analyze, and anticipate appropriate payment models and pricing structures for target customers who are often considered bottom of the pyramid. 

Work closely with our partners to develop strategies, timelines, and pricing models that appropriately reflect their organizational needs, aspirations, realities and current business operations while balancing the needs of the end user. 

Create new ventures with an eye towards and concrete plan for scale. 

Work tightly with a multidisciplinary team to design a new venture that creates new sources of revenue for the business or organization.

Design a new business model that enhances and extends consumer experiences while creating new opportunities for revenue.

Help clients identify and develop new growth options within existing brands or programs.

Design new products, services and consumer experiences that differentiate the company from its competition. 

Create compelling new value propositions for customers. 

Design a new and differentiated product, service, or consumer experience that unlocks growth.

Design organizational structures, strategic assets, and operating models to help the company drive its own innovation.

Design, lead, and measure experiments to gather feedback and make your concepts better.



Qualifications

A minimum of 5+ years of industry experience. 

A passion or interest in working in the developing world.

Experience in business model design, analysis, and implementation.

Experience taking offers to market, whether as an entrepreneur or intrapreneur.

World-class depth in 1-2 of these areas: Marketing (Product or Brand), Product Development, Finance, Operations, Data Science, or Media. 

Ability to work in an ambiguous and dynamic environment.

Ability to work in multidisciplinary design teams.

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

The ability to coach and teach other designers about business.

A willingness to get your hands dirty.

A masters degree in business, or equivalent life experience.
