Job Description

Stellar has an immediate need for an experienced Customer Service Representative to work in our newly acquired branch in Billings, MT.  The position responsibilities include, but are not limited to: receiving and processing inquiries, orders, and quotes; expediting and updating customer orders; handling all discrepancies: managing customer returns and invoice corrections.

Major responsibilities and expectations:

  1. Proficiently and efficiently handle the main inside sales functions to meet or exceed customer expectations:
    • Immediately address all customer inquiries, whether a walk-in or call-in customer, and adeptly handle more than one customer at a time, when necessary
    • Return calls and quotes as soon as possible
    • Accurately enter quotes and orders using Prophet 21 (P21)
    • Expedite all open quotes and sales orders with urgency and accuracy
    • Communicate quickly and accurately with customers with regards to quotes, orders or any other aspects of their account business
    • Generate add on sales where appropriate, recognizing sales opportunities as you increase customer and product knowledge

2.  Conduct yourself as a responsible Stellar employee and co-worker

    • Understand Stellar’s mission and vision
    • Display a consistent positive, can-do attitude at all times
    • Be a team player, supporting your department to meet branch and company goals
    • Be a good communicator, maintain constant and clear communication with the branch manager
    • Always work with honesty and forthrightness

3. Understand and support Stellar's service and capabilities

  • Be knowledgeable of divisional specialists and supplier sales resources
  • Be aware of Stellar's indirect material management solutions, including consignment and B2B
  • Understand Stellar's dedicated inventory levels and first pass fill rates
  • Be knowledgeable of Stellar's internal wireless warehouse systems, efficient logistics processes and sophisticated product management and replenishment systems

Qualifications

Qualifications include, but are not limited to:

  • 2-5 years of customer service/inside sales experience (preferably in Industrial Sales or equivalent industry)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Organizational and data entry skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Good personal motivation
  • Able to stand, walk, sit, and bend, 8 – 10 hours per day
  • Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs
  • Able to work well with a variety of different entities - customers, suppliers, sales reps, and co-workers
